Lose yourself to find yourself. A travelogue of our 6 month journey through India.
I bought a second hand harmonium today from one of Rajan’s friends. It’s a double reed bad bwoy. It needs a service to iron out some randomly occurring quirks, but other than that it’s cool. I’m getting a bag made to carry it pon the train to Amma’s ashram. Indian tailors are amazing - it’s cheaper to get a bag custom made than to buy one from a music shop. With a bit of luck I’ll be able to fix what needs fixing in the harmonium before we leave Anandashram. Rajan is coming over tonight to take another look to see if we can pinpoint what needs to be sorted. Next on the agenda is to get Nix some hand cymbals! We’re moving rooms tomorrow – lots more peace and quiet to practice, and more space too. The block where we are currently residing has been overrun by a busload of Westerners who arrived the other day, so the timing for us moving couldn’t be better. No more waiting to use the toilet or shower – we’ll have our own ensuite! Roots and kultcha. Back to my scales. My fingers feel mash up from practicing....
